Angry villagers in the eastern Nigerian state of Anambra have set a church ablaze after its pastor conducted a wedding between a man and his teenager sister, the website of privately-owned daily Nigerian Tribune has reported.
The local community in Agba, Ekwulobia, termed the siblings’ union as an abomination.
“In an apparent reaction to the unusual wedding, Agba Village youths who saw the marriage as an abomination set ablaze the church where the wedlock took place,” the newspaper said. Read more

Zimbabwe government through the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education has advised tertiary institutions that they can enrol students without Ordinary Level Mathematics and English Language for certain courses, where they are deemed not necessary.
According to Minister Amon Murwira, the colleges and universities are free to use their own discretion on who to enrol without the government stipulating the minimum entry requirements.
Speaking to State media, Murwira said:
It remains the institution’s responsibility to revise entry requirements. As a ministry, we leave such decisions to the colleges.
Our role is to give direction and not directives on academic matters. We leave academic boards to exercise their independence and rights. Read more
Aspher Madziyire, the president of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) is being sued at the High Court to allow the churches’ financial records to be audited.
Madziyire was sued by AFM pastors Kefias Mujokeri and Paymore Murefu in a case which High Court judge Justice Happias Zhou set aside the ruling for this week. Read more
