Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers president Mr Denford Mutashu said they have approached Government and requested that licences of retailers who were overpricing should be revoked.
Mr Mutashu said:
Presently, we are going around noting the names of retailers charging speculative prices, and we have forwarded their names to Government and the Financial Intelligence Unit of the RBZ. Read more

British-Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua has achieved another milestone after beating Cameroonian-French professional boxer Carlos Takam to retain his WBA and IBF heavyweight titles on Saturday night.
The referee ended the fight in the 10th round after Joshua who had injured his nose from a headbutt in the second round attacked Takam with a hook-uppercut combination and was heading further to land more blows. Read more

Econet Wireless’ mobile money platform, EcoCash, has launched a “Swipe into EcoCash” service that enables customers whose banks have not integrated with EcoCash to be able to swipe their monies from their bank accounts into their EcoCash accounts.
All ZimSwitch enabled cards can access the facility. Currently only five banks are yet to connect to the EcoCash platform. The service will be available at selected merchants as well as agents, and customers can swipe up to $2 000 per transaction.
EcoCash general manager Natalie Jabangwe Morris said this was part of the firm’s efforts to enhance inter-operability and convenience at a time the country is facing cash shortages and relying on electronic platforms for transacting. Read more
Chitungwiza resident magistrate Mr Francis Mapfumo dismissed Chitungwiza mayor Phillip Mutoti’s application for discharge on allegations of fraud or alternatively criminal abuse of duty, he acquitted fired town clerk, George Makunde, who was also facing the same charges.

An HIV-positive Italian man accused of intentionally infecting 30 women is set to hear the verdict today, October 27, in his trial for allegedly targeting victims for unprotected sex over a period of nearly 10 years.
Under the pseudonym “Hearty Style”, 33-year-old accountant Valentino Talluto seduced dozens of young women on social networks and internet dating sites, often dating several at a time.
Out of 53 sexual conquests known to have taken place between 2006 — when he discovered he was HIV positive — and his arrest in 2015, 30 women were allegedly infected by him with the virus which damages the immune system and causes AIDS. Read more
