Freed Saif Al Islam Gaddafi remains under guard for his protection

According to Libya’s internationally recognised government, the Government of National Accord (GNA), Saif Al Islam Gaddafi, the son of the late Muammar Gaddafi, is now free despite a 2011 International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant for his arrest.

The ICC wants Gaddafi to be extradited to The Hague to face charges of murder. Following his father’s toppling and death in 2011, Gaddafi had been held under house arrest by one of Libya’s notorious militias vying for power in Zintan, a mountainous western region.

In July 2015, a court in the capital Tripoli sentenced him to death for war crimes which included allegations of killing protesters during the 2011 revolution. Read more

Zim woman and Nigerian partner busted for drugs in South Africa

South African police detectives from the Greater Karoo attached to OCU-Narcotics, on Sunday morning, May 28, arrested a Nigerian man and a Zimbabwean woman and seized drugs worth more than R20 million.

The 49-year-old Nigerian man and the Zimbabwean woman, 28, were driving along the N1 from Johannesburg to Cape Town with the stash.

Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie said the man and woman would appear in the Beaufort West Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges related to the sale of drugs.

According to Pojie, the drugs were found after a joint operation by several police units. Read more

Video: Drama as corpse refused to be buried until it led villagers to its killer’s house

A Zambian man named Hagra Tembo on Facebook shared this shocking video of a corpse that refused to buried until it took villagers to the resident of its killer. According to his caption, he wrote:

‘A body refused to be buried until it took villagers to a house where the person behind the death of the deceased resides’

In the video, the villagers were all shocked when the undertakers were seemingly being controlled by the corpse who turned them round until it led them to its killer’s house.

Peter Moyo readies new album

Peter “Young Igwe” MoyoSungura musician Peter Moyo will launch his new album ‘Mopao Mokonzi’ at Jazz 24/ 7 in the capital next week on Thursday.

The album contains several tracks ‘Mweya Mutsvene’, ‘Musara Pavana’, ‘Kurera Haizinyore’, ‘Mudiwa Wangu’, ‘Baba NaMai’ and ‘Muridzi Weupenyu’.

Moyo said he was elated by the developments.

“All is set for the launch and we have invited a number of people that include musicians and top Government officials for the launch,” he said.

He worked with renowned producer Jabulani Ndlovu on the album.

HIV+ man ‘rapes, infects’ daughters

The two minors aged eight and six years also sustained injuries after the 34-year-old man from Chinotimba suburb also had anal sex with them.

The alleged rapist stepfather, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the two minors, faces two counts of rape.

It could not be established if aggravated indecent assault charges will also be preferred against him for having anal sex with the girls.

The man allegedly abused the two girls when they visited their mother in December last year. Read more
