Sulumani Maintenance saga takes new twist

Musician Sulumani Chimbetu‘s ex-wife Marygold Rutendo Mutemasango has indicated that she wants to withdraw the maintenance case against her former husband.

Marigold had taken Chimbetu to court complaining that he has defied a court order that compels him to pay $800 each month towards the upkeep of their children.

She claimed that Sulu, as the 35-year-old singer is fondly known by his fans, was in arrears of $1 600. Sulu appeared at the Harare magistrate court charged with failure to pay maintenance. Read more

According to the story trending online, Kenyan millionaire, Javan Bidogo got married to two friends, Elvas and Asha same weekend in different lavish occasions.

A Facebook user, Maybelline Boma who shared the news said that the man found the two ladies attractive and decided to marry them both.

Ramaphosa speaks out: Firing of Gordhan is ‘unacceptable’

Ramaphosa said he was particularly opposed to the removal of former finance minister Pravin Gordhan. He said many colleagues shared his views.

Ramaphosa said Zuma had not properly consulted the ANC’s leadership.

“The president has effected his Cabinet reshuffle. Before doing so‚ he met ANC officials. It was just a process of informing us of his decision‚” Ramaphosa said on SABC TV news.

“It was not a consultation because he came with a ready-made list. I raised my concern and objection on the removal of the Minister of Finance‚ largely because he was being removed based on an intelligence report that I believe had unsubstantiated allegations about the Minister of Finance and his deputy going to London to mobilise financial markets against our country. South Africa leaders divided after President Zuma sacks Gordhan

South Africa’s Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has described the sacking of Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan as “totally unacceptable”.

His late night dismissal on Thursday led to a 5% plunge in the value of the currency, the rand.

Mr Gordhan was seen as a bulwark against corruption in an administration that is facing growing criticism. He was one of several victims as President Jacob Zuma conducted a major overhaul of his cabinet.

Mr Zuma said the midnight reshuffle was about a “radical socio-economic transformation”.
Mr Ramaphosa told state broadcaster SABC that he would not resign in response to the sacking but continue to ” serve the people”.

In a spirited farewell press conference at the treasury’s office in Pretoria, Mr Gordhan defended his economic record, and dismissed speculation by that he had recently held meetings in London aimed at undermining Mr Zuma. Read more

Zakaria in drive to evade pirates

Nicholas ZakariaVETERAN sungura musician Nicholas Zakaria’s romance with the Zimbabwe Business and Arts Hub (Zibah) is set to pay off after the latter’s plan to sell off as many copies of his forthcoming album as possible during tomorrow’s launch at Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza to circumvent pirates.

Zibah is overseeing the launch, production, marketing and distribution of Zakaria’s 27th studio album.

Zibah chairperson Takemore Mazuruse told NewsDay yesterday they want Zakaria to capitalise on this project since he did not reap much from his previous work due to piracy.

“With the dedicated team we have on board, we are aiming to push volumes of Nicholas Zakaria’s forthcoming album on the first day of its release before piracy takes its toll to rip-off the musician’s efforts,” Mazuruse said. Read more

MSU student Emelda Mudzviti who was supposed to be married in April caught cheating by fiance


A MIDLANDS State University final year student is battling for life in a Gweru hospital after her fiancé — who was supposed to marry her over the Easter holiday — allegedly stabbed her when he found her having se_x with another man.

Martins Dakwa allegedly stabbed Miss Emelda Mudzviti on Monday at around 6AM at her lodgings in Nehosho High Density suburb.

He allegedly went ballistic when he broke down the door and his fiancée’s boyfriend came to the door na_ked, still wearing a co_ndom.

The incident has since become the talk of Gweru.
